When they came in for the estimate they gave their recommendations to "waterproof" the basement, and were confident the basement would remain dry. I can only assume there is a crack in the basement slab and the water is seeping out thru that. It is coming from underneath a stud wall in the basement. When I pulled up the carpet I found the source of the water. I pulled up the carpet and using high velocity fans and a dehumidifier to dry it all out. There hasn't been any power outages, so the sump pump should have been running the entire time. Recently there has been a lot of rain in my area and the carpet got wet.
In December 2016 I had carpet installed in the basement. If you notice that the septic red light is on but there is no alarm, it could indicate that there is an issue with the septic system.
